Crane tree removal uses a crane to lift heavy tree sections vertically up and out away from your roof, fence, and power lines instead of dragging them across your property. It’s the safest method for large, dead, or hard-to-reach trees where there’s no room to drop limbs. B&R Tree Service has handled complex crane removals across Charlton and Worcester County since 2001, with experienced climbers, crane operators, and full insurance.
Crane removals involve heavy equipment working close to your home, so site setup matters as much as the lift itself. We use ground protection mats under the crane and outriggers to prevent lawn and driveway damage, and we plan the lift path in advance to keep sections clear of your roof, fence, and landscaping. Once the tree is down, our crew clears all debris and leaves the site the way we found it.

Standard felling isn’t an option when a tree is too large, too close to structures, or too unstable to climb safely. A 75-ton crane lifts sectioned pieces straight up and away from your roof and power lines, rather than dropping them significantly reducing the risk of damage. This approach is especially useful for large dead pines or oaks that would otherwise put your home or utility lines at risk.
A crane removal only works if the rigging is right our climbers and crane operators communicate constantly to make sure each section is secured before it’s lifted. This precision matters most on properties with pools, decks, or landscaping directly beneath the tree, where there’s no margin for a miscalculated drop.
Most residential cranes need a clear path and stable ground to set up, but exact space requirements depend on the crane size and the tree’s location. During your on-site assessment, we evaluate access driveways, gates, and yard layout and confirm the right crane size and placement before the job is scheduled.

When a tree is too large, tall, or unstable to climb safely, when there's no room to drop limbs (tight yards, trees over a house, pool, or wires), or when it's dead or storm-damaged. A crane lifts sections straight up and away under full control.
For large or hard-to-reach trees, yes. Lifting wood vertically clear of your roof, landscaping, and power lines avoids dragging heavy logs across your property and reduces the risk to both the crew and your home.
It depends on the tree's size, the crane size and time required, access and rigging complexity, proximity to structures and power lines, and disposal. Crane jobs vary widely, so a free on-site assessment gives the accurate price.
Usually, yes. The crane stages within reach of the tree often from a driveway, street, or open area and we confirm access and the safest setup during the assessment. Most tight or backyard trees are reachable with the right crane and rigging plan.

Excellent experience from start to finish. We had a large pine tree removed from a difficult location near power lines, our house, and a fence. The crew was professional, communicated well, and completed the job safely and efficiently. The work met our expectations. We would gladly recommend them to others.Posted on Google![]()

I had multiple trees and overgrown shrubs removed. One of the large trees was tangled with the electric drop too. Bernie, the owner, personally came with his crew to oversee this big job over almost 3 days. Bernie is very knowledgeable about trees and plants and had so much good information to share, which was especially helpful for me since I'm new to Massachusetts. The crew cleaned up everything when they were done. The price was very reasonable (less than other quotes I got). I highly recommend B&R Tree Service! Good people, and it's a very friendly family business. The pics attached show the house before, in the middle, and after. Trees in the backyard were removed too (not shown).Posted on Google![]()

Everyone involved in removing our 5 trees was very professional, extremely diligent, and pleasant to work with! The accuracy, attention to detail, and quality of work were all evident throughout the entire process. Two neighbors hired B & R as a result.Posted on Google![]()

The owner explained the process very well, set a date, the office followed up, and the team followed through. Great work and will use them again in the future.
